Whats Your Mindset?
Most want to go down the slide, but not up the ladder... The few that embrace the work up the ladder. End up enjoying the slide that much more. Initially we believe all individuals want to be better, work harder and become what they manifest in their imaginations...
If you think about it, anyone that decides to make a change when wanting to join a health facility clearly isn't happy with their current level of fitness. Or for more shallow reasons, unhappy with the way they look. "Thanks Society" Before we go down this road lets make one thing crystal clear. For every negative person you encounter, there is always a positive one to "X" them out.
Anyone in this business has dealt with that client that wants it all! However complains pretty much about everything you put them through why?
Are they afraid of change? Are they wanting something for nothing? Or do they just not believe enough in themselves and what they are capable of? If they just let go, shut up and go up the ladder they just might realize its worse in their head then it actually is going to be... When someone complains before a workout. They usually try to pull one or more into the negative conversation... its like they are saying if I can get someone on my side. it will take away some of the "ATTENTION FROM MY, LACK OF CONFIDENCE AND DOUBTS OF MY CAPABILITIES."
This can truly be contagious and spread in a bad way, Although what we have witnessed is, players that are serious and want real change, blow off the negative talk and end up setting an example to the negative person in the group. These individuals realize that real change is in their mindset not what session is on the board. These are also the individuals that end up getting looked at funny from the negative ones... Leading by example has a cost, It makes the lazy people jealous of you. A PRICE WE ARE VERY GLAD TO PAY!
Saying that, there has been individuals that start out very negative wanting the brass ring and all the blah blah blah glory. That actually end up flipping and just becoming a solid, growing and willing individual! These people have learned its only as bad as you make it, and you always come out better, stronger and more prepared for future challenges.
One of the kindest things we have ever been told by a member was. " When I joined I was negative in almost every aspect of my life. Work, Friends etc. I always saw the bad... After being here for a year. I see the positive in everything in my life."
We leave you with this. No one forces anyone to do anything they don't want, If you want a six pack you'll get a six pack, If you want a sub 7 2k row, you'll get it, If you want that big house on the beach you'll have it.
